The thin-skinned grapes comprising Astore were harvested in early October from a 30-year-old vineyard in Tuscany and immediately taken to the winery, where they were given a soft pressing at the start of a a 10-day process of alcoholic fermentation and maceration on the skins in stainless steel tanks. The skins were then removed, and the wine underwent four months of malolactic fermentation before spending an additional six months in its bottles to create a very fresh, smooth white with only a tiny bit of minerality. It first hits the nose with complex aromas of fruits — especially citrus and pineapple — and presents the palate with an intense, full taste that has a wonderful finish with the memory of crushed almonds.
Straw-gold in hue. Complex nose of fresh citrus and juicy pineapple. Luscious and full bodied on the palate, with a long, harmonic finish.
