Carlin de Paolo is a fourth-generation family-owned winery with exclusively estate-produced wines from viticultural region Langhe, Roero and Monferrato, each recognized by UNESCO as a Wolrd Heritage Site.
With a winemaking tradition started by the Ponte family four generations ago, the winery’s name Carlin de Paolo comes from two of the family’s great patriarchs: Carlin and Paolo, Grandfather and great-grandfather, respectively. Paolo was an indefatigable worker, bent from the hard work carried out in the vineyards for many years. But he was always joyful; with his fist clenched as a sign of determination he was always striding forward.
“We are curious about Carlin de Paolo’s elegant way of utilizing their wines to express both their terroir and their commitment to family. This joy and humility comes across in their hospitality; they immediately welcome you like you are family. Their passion for family tradition and their ancient lands is expressed in their winemaking; wines from Carlin de Paolo are happy wines.”
