Notturno dei Calanchi Pinot Nero grapes are harvested from Umbrian vineyards along the border of Tuscany and Northern Lazio at an altitude of 550 meters.

Notturno dei Calanchi Pinot Nero grapes elegantly express their unique terroir within the deep mineral cliffs and calciferous valleys of the Calanchi, a protected region characterized by soil rich in clay, peperino and limestone.

Notturno dei Calanchi Pinot Nero grapes enjoy a gentle climate and excellent drainage from the Calanchi’s volcanic floor. Even young vines produce a wine comparable to the best in Burgundy.

Notturno dei Calanchi Pinot Nero grapes are manually harvested and transported to the d’Amico estate winery for stalk removal and pressing. Must and peels are fermented at controlled temperatures in stainless steel decanters.

The wine ages by candlelight and classical music for eight months in new French oak barrels, then two additional years in the bottle.

From the vines to the cellar Notturno dei Calanchi Pinot Nero follows a specialized production process established by renowned agriculturalists and oenologists, all under the personal care and attention of Paolo and Noemia d’Amico.
