This amazing deep red comes from Umbria in Central Italy, where its grapes were hand-harvested in a UNESCO protected area. Following fermentation in stainless steel decanters, the Villa Tirrena was pressed and decanted, then aged in French oak barrels for 15 months, plus another 10 months in the bottle. It offers bold fruit across all senses, starting with the intense ruby red hue that helps suggest raspberry and cherry to the nose, as well as traces of the French oak. The palate receives a warm, dry taste of cherry, blackberry, structured tannins and a tiny memory of coffee on the finish. The Villa Tirrena goes excellently with red meat, roast and game.
Crystalline, ruby red color. Pronounced aromas of brushwood, musk, raspberries, and freshly picked cherries, softened by oak. Clear, dry palate, with elegant tannins and persistent finish.
